DIY hemming and saving thousands!

So I'm a 5'1 lady and have always had to bring my jeans/pants to get hemmed ( because let's face it... its rare that I buy a pair of pants that don't look like my legs are melting into the floor). There are few tailors in my area that I frequent and the cost usually ranges from 5$-15$ ( if you want that fancy euro hem for jeans). I've never questioned paying the amount because I simply needed my pants shorter.

Recently I've gotten back into sewing and while I was on Pinterest ( how much do I love that site!) I found a link for hemming your own pants that was super easy. I decided to give it a whirl on some jeans I bought on super sale. I figured that if I messed up I wouldn't have wasted too much money.

The blog I went to is this:

It turned out awesome! I'm so excited that I don't have to pay to hem my pants! woot woot! It was really easy and didn't take too long either. I highly recommend doing this if you've got a sewing machine and are a shorty like me!

Here are my before and afters:

Before... pants waaaay too  long!!

After... just the right length!
